Singapore
Pet Microchip:
- All pets entering or leaving Singapore must be microchipped with a ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchip.
Country Categories:
- Singapore categorizes countries into three categories (A, B, and C) based on their rabies status.
- Category A: Rabies-free countries or regions.
- Category B: Countries with controlled rabies status.
- Category C: Countries with high rabies incidence.
Vaccinations:
- Dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies and other common diseases.
- The vaccination should be administered at least 30 days before entry into Singapore.
Rabies Titer Test:
- For pets entering Singapore from Category B or C countries, a rabies titer test is required.
- The test must be conducted at an approved laboratory at least 90 days before entry.
Health Certificate:
- A valid health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian is required.
- The certificate should be issued within 7 days of travel and include details of vaccinations and microchip.
Import Licenses:
- Import licenses are required for the importation of pets into Singapore.
- The license can be obtained from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) prior to travel.
Ticks & Tapeworm Treatment:
- Dogs and cats must be treated for ticks and tapeworms within 7 days before entry into Singapore.
- A veterinary endorsement on the health certificate is required as proof of treatment.
Quarantine:
- Singapore does not require quarantine for pets from most countries.
- However, pets from Category C countries may require quarantine of up to 10 days upon arrival.
Entering Singapore:
- Pets must enter Singapore through Changi Airport or the Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoints.
- Entry through other ports of entry may require prior arrangements and approval from the AVA.
Transiting Singapore by Air:
- Pets transiting through Singapore by air are subject to the same import regulations as mentioned above.
- The transit period should be as short as possible, and the pets must remain within the designated transit area.
Puppies and Kittens:
- Puppies and kittens must be at least 3 months old before they can enter Singapore.
- They should be vaccinated against rabies and other diseases based on the age-appropriate vaccination schedule.
Banned Breeds:
- Singapore prohibits the importation of certain dog breeds, including Pit Bulls and related breeds.
- Other breeds may also be subject to restrictions and additional requirements.
Exporting Pets from Singapore:
- To export pets from Singapore, you need to comply with the import regulations of the destination country.
- Obtain the necessary health certificates, vaccinations, and other documents required by the destination country.
Other Animals:
- Different regulations may apply to the importation and exportation of non-dog/cat pets.
- Contact the AVA or relevant authorities for specific guidelines regarding the import or export of other animals.
Cities:
- The regulations mentioned above apply to all pets entering or leaving Singapore regardless of the city of origin/destination.
